General Purpose:

Proactively plans and performs advanced technical activities requiring knowledge in multiple areas or on a system level to service the customer. Prioritizes work based on customer impact, and brings expertise to customer site on need basis.

Main Responsibility Area / Tasks

Identifies and solves proactively demanding problems and communicates them to key stakeholders. Participates as an expert in own technology area in customer projects. May support areas by participating in emergency and 24/7 duty. Is active in networking and knowledge sharing. Develops processes, tools and working methods.

  • Day to day support to Nokia customers on NT-HLR, OneNDS, HSS, OneEIR and OneMNP and other SDM products as needed.

  • Resolve issues raised by the customer by using troubleshooting skills and knowledge of the SDM Products.

  • In cases where problems cannot be solved locally, raise a helpdesk case into the Nokia case handling tool NCT.

  • Supply logs and any needed configuration information to assist the progress of any helpdesk case.

  • Attend and represent Nokia in UK customer meetings as well as support the Care Manager or Project Manager as needed.

  • Review upgrade process and procedures for new releases of software needed for the customer installed base on SDM Product range.

  • Customise processes by producing Methods Of Procedure (MOPs) to be used for the UK customer upgrades.

  • Action the MOPs in a controlled environment to demonstrate quality of process to the customer.

  • Perform installation and upgrades on customer site or from customer operations centre for Nokia SDM Product range independently of other engineers.

  • Install, configure, commission, integrate, test, upgrade, fault find, troubleshoot Nokia SDM product range.

  • Provide consultation to key stake holders on the current customer install base and future requirements in order to better support the Nokia Account Teams.

  • Leverage the knowledge of the customers network and installed product base to provide feedback on current and future product features and the impact of any changes to the network.

  • Provide recommendations on software compatibility and upgrade paths to ensure high quality of interworking with the UK customer networks.

  • Action key tasks as required by Nokia Line Manager/s in support of business targets, internal processes and customer deliverables.

  • *Additional Requirements

  • Must have the proven ability to provide support for Nokia customers based in the UK with their engineering software requirements to include at a minimum the products NT-HLR ver 16 , OneNDS ver 16 and HSS ver 16 .

  • Able to independently commission and integrate Nokia Subscriber Database Management (SDM) system-architecture, have proven working knowledge to manage and test the new SDM software builds producing technical reports of the results.

  • Able to produce test plans and methods of procedure for upgrades that are customised to the customer network on the Nokia SDM products listed.

  • Able to test documented procedures to ensure good quality and to fully investigates any none compliant cases with the ability to use Nokia case handling tool NCT.

  • Must have practical experience of Nokia SDM system-upgrades with proven ability to perform upgrades independently.

Be able to demonstrate sound knowledge of Nokia Products NT-HLR, OneNDS, HSS, OneEIR, OneMNP and other SDM products at a system level.

  • Analytical troubleshooting skills at Nokia Product system operating level for the above products.

  • Demonstrate good understanding and knowledge of the above products interfaces & protocols to include at a minimum SS7, LDAP and Diameter.

  • Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written English.


Qualifications and Knowledge:

Degree in Telecommunications

Must have a good working knowledge of Nokia customers based in the UK.

Experienced working on Nokia Subscriber Data Management (SDM) system-architecture

Experience of performing Nokia SDM product system-upgrades in a live telecom traffic environment.

A good level of working experience with Nokia SDM Products, NT-HLR, OneNDS, HSS, OneEIR, OneMNP.

Nokia Cloud / Subscriber Data Layer (SDL) products would be an advantage.

Analytical troubleshooting skills gain from working on live Nokia SDM Products in a UK customer environment

Sound knowledge of relevant system interfaces & protocols used in Nokia customer network solutions

Ability to communicate effectively in both spoken and written English.
