Functional Responsibilities * Design of complex, integrated security systems and system upgrades to meet customer requirements within technical, legal, cost, quality and timescale constraints. * Production of all technical aspects of tender responses and written customer proposals * Leadership of an interdisciplinary team to successfully deliver complex tenders * Present technical solutions to customers either formally or informally * Demonstrate technical solutions, products or services to customers * Produce high quality handover material for engineering and commissioning staff of proposed solutions * Site survey support during the pre-sales design process * Keep up-to-date with new products, techniques and technologies that has application to our business * Support the evaluation and introduction to the business of new technologies, products and service
Personal Qualities * Highly motivated finisher able to drive projects to completion within a timescale * Organised and time-efficient, able to manage multiple projects simultaneously * A team builder, able to build strong links within the team and between teams * An engineer, with a core interest in system design and problem solving * A learner, always keen to add new skills
Skills, Experience and Qualifications * Degree qualified within an appropriate engineering domain (e.g. Electronics, Computer Science, Software Engineering or IT) * At least 5 years’ experience of designing systems within one of the following areas: o Complex, network-based CCTV o Enterprise access control o IT networks and systems, particularly for use within security * Excellent written communication skills, able to clearly articulate complex designs and sell the benefit to customers * Strong customer presentation skills * Good commercial experience within the security industry
