Job Title: Sales Account Manager (Engines)

Salary: £43,000 - £50,000 (depending on depth of experience)

We have an opportunity for an Engine Sales Account Manager to join our team based in Peterborough.

In this Account Manager position you will be responsible for the development of sales volumes and revenue, maximisation of profit margins and achievement of high overall satisfaction levels of assigned accounts, selected distributors, their customers and prospects, maximising the selling time of the distributors sales force representing Perkins products.

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

• Developing and delivering sales plans to maximise the market share

• Managing own accounts portfolio with a focus on maintaining current business and growing

new business

• Participating in and contributing to sales projects, from identification of opportunities to

development of the product offering

• Developing and presenting commercial proposals

• Developing growth strategies by analysing your assigned markets by developing and

implementing action plans to target and break through identified key / priority prospective


• Participating as required in sales promotional activities (trade shows, hospitalises etc)

• Forecasting short, medium and long term plans. Maintaining forecast accuracy at target levels

• Developing continuous improvement activities, both internally and with the customer

• Working closely with the Business Development Managers for the establishment of key


• Taking part as required in the development and / or improvement of sales processes and sales

tools (order administration, project management, invoicing, applications engineering, product

support etc)

Skills, experience and qualifications you will have;

• Prior account management experience

• Understand the application of technical products

• Previous experience in the sale of technical products

• Extensive customer facing experience

• Negotiating/influencing skills

Skills, experience and qualifications you may have;

• Technical or commercial / account management qualification

• Previous experience of working with the sale of diesel engines
