Regional Sales Engineer - UK including complete aftermarket business responsibility for given area. Sales and service driven with proven experience to sustain and grow market share in a mature market. Ensure highest levels of customer satisfaction by providing rotating equipment solutions and exceeding customer expectations. Provide strong potential business leads, develop and execute to order stage.

Including but not limited to:


  • Proven experience within a Technical Regional Sales Account management position.

  • Take ownership for the budget and forecasting processes for order input for given area.

  • Develop short and long-term growth of the regional area through targeted growth initiatives, and successful execution of the overall sales plan.

  • Achieve growth and revenue targets year on year and increase market share in chosen markets/area in line with the strategic intent of the business.

  • Develop strong professional relationships with customer peers at all levels focusing on key customer organisations. Deliver best in class customer service and satisfaction.

  • Work closely with tendering to provide on time detailed tenders to customer’s budget and expectation.

  • Develop strong working relationships with other Weir Group companies to establish growth opportunities through synergies in their geographical footprint and the business unit service offering.

  • Be a strong member of the O&G Sales team contributing to the growth of the overall Services business and collaborating and supporting at all levels.

  • Conduct business activities in an honest and ethical manner which is consistent with the Weir Values, policies and practices.

  • Possess a positive can-do attitude, be self-motivating, hardworking and honest helping the team to achieve beyond the obvious.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Undergraduate University Degree, preferably in Mechanical Engineering

  • Extensive and proven selling experience and a Comprehensive knowledge of the UK Equipment service market and industries (Power generation, oil and gas, refining and general Industrial Markets such as fertiliser plants).

  • Positive, flexible attitude with strong interpersonal skills and a high degree of self-motivation. Strong existing relationship with key customers in the UK market. Comprehensive direct sales experience within the UK market.

  • Successful track record of handling regional revenue responsibility

  • Demonstrable experience of managing small and large business accounts

  • Demonstrable experience of implementing sales principles to improve overall efficiencies

  • Must have key account management experience

  • Experience of After Market Rotating Equipment Service

  • Knowledge of all Rotating Equipment strongly desired, especially in a services/ applications environment

  • Good knowledge of commercial contracts

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office & other analytical software packages

    Work Environment:

  • Extensive travel throughout UK and Europe Weir bases and Clients

  • Ability to drive to various client locations and bases on regular basis
