The Opportunity:

This is a fantastic opportunity to participate in the development, facilitation and deployment of “World Class Learning” to the UK & Ireland region (“UK&I) in line with the UK&I Learning Deployment operating model. As a Learning Consultant you will be expected to perform some or all of the core responsibilities detailed below, contributing to the Talent Development team’s priorities and objectives.


Your Key Responsibilities:

You will be aligned to the Tax Service Line and you may also be required to contribute to activities or projects across the wider UK&I Talent Development function.

  • Management of a portfolio of courses or large scale conferences, with responsibility for the overall strategy of deployment for those events. This includes overseeing the initial set up of courses and classes, the initial and ongoing participant nomination process, facilitator and material management, management of course financials, ongoing maintenance of records, course evaluation and ownership for course communications

  • Maintain and manage strong relationships with key stakeholders relevant to your courses, being the first point of contact for your course within the business. The relationships may include service line resourcing teams, Course Managers, Facilitators, Learning Champions, Quality and Efficiency networks, Q&RM/PPD, Subject Matter Experts, External training providers

  • Support the implementation of a performance development culture and evaluate the return on investment of learning within the Tax Service Line. This will be achieved by ensuring that the courses you manage are fit for purpose and by seeking feedback and conducting follow up evaluations

  • Responsible for Facilitator Management for your portfolio of courses, including managing requests to the business, allocation of facilitators to courses where applicable, answering queries, relationship management and managing the information flow between the Talent Development team and the facilitator pool

  • Coach and partner with the Learning Coordinators to increase their knowledge, skills and competence within their role

  • Responsible for the detailed review of your project team, being the Learning Coordinator (when one is allocated to supporting your course) and/or the GSS Learning administrator

  • Coach and partner with the UK&I GSS Learning administration coordinators to increase their knowledge, skills and competence within their role along with their understanding of the UK&I region

  • Contribute to EYU/learning initiatives (both SL and FW) across the UK&I region

  • Support World Class Learning through the design and development of non-technical global and regional learning material

  • Facilitation on EMEIA and Regional non-technical learning events

  • Maintain a thorough understanding of, and adhere to, the UK&I Learning Deployment Operating Model

  • Manage the relationship with other regions (such as FS UK, FS Ireland and Channel Islands) in relation to training dates and nominations

  • Manage the budget, forecasts and actual costs of courses you are responsible for, supporting all Finance related activities as set out in the Learning Deployment model

  • Ensure all participants within the population complete their mandatory training requirements in line with SL policy requirements

  • Provide on-site support for your own and other Coordinators courses as required

  • Management of learning communications and newsletters, including the CHS for the courses you are responsible for, in line with the Global governance model

  • Be the first point of contact for queries from the practice in relation to the courses you are responsible for and respond to ad hoc Talent Development related queries

  • Support the UK&I Talent Development function by undertaking other operational activities and projects, management of external suppliers, development and ongoing management of annual SL/FWL course calendar

  • Support the production of online modules, webcasts and integrated learning projects

To Qualify for the Role you must have:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • A background and experience in project management, in the context of learning deployment or coordination, ideally within a Professional Services firm

  • Strong IT skills – Word, Excel, Outlook and SharePoint

  • Ability to learn new processes and skills quickly

  • Organised, with an attention to detail and an ability to deliver to deadlines

Ideally, you’ll also have:

  • Excellent people management, coaching and interpersonal skills

  • A desire to embrace and drive change whilst identifying and supporting process improvements and demonstrating best practices

  • Ability to work well unsupervised and use initiative where required

  • Ability to pre-empt deadlines and pursue colleagues for relevant information

  • Ability to juggle conflicting demands on time and prioritise effectively
