UK Operations Site Head

Reports To: SVP EMEA and APAC Operations

Location: Basildon

Job Description

Our Operations include a wide range of Client Service and processing functions that enable us to serve our clients across all of First Data business segments. The Head of Basildon Operations will provide leadership, strategic direction and management of the approximate 1,200 Owner Associates within Operations. The leader will collaborate with the regional/client operations heads to ensure proper alignment of product support and service models.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for daily Operations management across the site

  • Ensure optimal utilisation of resources to maximise efficiency whilst meeting clients’ needs and business objectives

  • Ensure there is cross-functional collaboration on the site to ensure team’s goals are aligned with the business to support our clients.

  • Identify, scope, manage and deliver programs to increase overall effectiveness and efficiency across the business. Manage cost levers and financial impact.

  • Manage all strategic projects and ensure on-time, high quality implementation of deliverables

  • Appropriately advocate and ensure payment compliance mandates and requirements are met to ensure GBS operates in a strong control environment.

  • Work closely with functional partners to ensure the team’s goals are aligned with the business to support our clients.

  • Ensure strong partnership with Technology to support new business growth initiatives and implement process improvement enhancements.

  • Establish, build and maintain effective relationships with existing clients, new clients and internal stakeholders.

  • Develop the talent necessary to deliver on the GBS strategy. Provide ongoing coaching, feedback and development to both teams and individuals.

    Qualifications

  • Previous experience leading operational organizations in financial services, credit card processing or banking industry. Strong understanding of the payments industry is preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex organizations ensuring the needs of the business unit and clients are met.

  • Proven ability to identify, scope, manage and deliver efficiency and effectiveness programs across and through the organization.

  • Experience in building and developing teams and solutions while overcoming challenges of the status quo and the “way things have always been”. Tenacity to persevere despite organizational inertia and passive resistance.

  • Proven ability to collaborate, negotiate and generate the engagement of others.

  • Executive presence and presentation skills.

  • Business judgement to determine priorities.

  • Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent experiences.
