Role Overview



/The Short Cycle Salesperson will develop and implement new business strategies through executing tactical plans leading to achieving net revenue targets through closing, cross selling and direct selling initiatives. They are responsible for acquiring new business for AIBMS and their part in the overall growth of the business. The Short Cycle Salesperson will be responsible for covering Armagh, Derry and Tyrone and will target potential clients within that territory./

Key Responsibilities

  • Grow and develop revenue and secure business profits through successful direct business to business selling to achieve agreed targets
  • Present and sell company products and services to potential clients with an estimated card turnover of €5m - €50m
  • Maintain strong relationships with AIB branches in your area; achieve associated targeted development of business opportunities through this relationship
  • Demonstrate proficiency and consistency in self-generation of sales leads
  • Source potential new business by means of cold calling, referrals and lead generation
  • Demonstrate consistent and adequate levels of quality new business meetings on a structured weekly basis in line with targets and KPI’s 20 meetings and 5 new MID’s per week. Follow up on new leads and referrals resulting from field activity. Identify sales prospects and contact these and other accounts as assigned
  • Engage with colleagues to fully utilise marketing tools, sales materials and product knowledge. Remain up to date with evolving product functionalities and process technology – both internally and within competitive offering
  • Collect, capture, analyse, use and report data (market challenges, industry opportunities, competitor activity etc.) in an accurate and effective manner – using it to identify customer needs, develop sales opportunities and add to business growth
  • Accountable for recording and coordinating sales activity of an agreed number of prospects within your area (using CRM tool; SalesForce) – reporting accurate business and revenue details to the Head of SME Sales as required (and other managers)
  • Responsible for demonstrating flexibility and commitment to service with new clients – providing a consistent, positive and effective sales experience in a manner that reflects AIBMS’s values
  • Prepare action plans and schedules to identify specific targets and to project the number of contacts to be made
  • Prepare presentations, proposals and sales contracts. Prepare paperwork to activate and maintain contract services. Ensure that due diligence is completed in a timely and comprehensive manner and adhere to AIBMS company procedures and policies
  • Establish clear strategies and methodologies for all stages of generating new business (from prospecting to proposal to closure)

Job Requirements * A business related qualification (degree level education preferred) * At least 2-3 years successful experience in a business-to-business sales role * Proven track record of selling which has successfully achieved required revenue growth * Commitment to updating and maintaining knowledge of the business, relevant products, competitors and the marketplace * Be IT literate and able to demonstrate effective use business tools and technology to ensure success.
