Ageas are currently recruiting for a HR Advisor to provide professional, comprehensive, pragmatic and customer focused HR advice and support to staff and managers in line with organisational policies, procedures and legal requirements.

Working within a small team to deliver an effective and efficient HR service to specific client areas. You will be the first point of contact for line manager queries and employee referrals.

Main responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Provide a dedicated and proactive HR advisory and coaching service to defined client areas, in relation to absence and health issues, conduct and capability, grievance, family friendly matters, organisational change and a range of employee and employment relations matters.

  • Management of casework relating to sickness absence. This will include making recommendations, giving advice and support to managers, liaising with Occupational Health, health and safety experts, Remploy and GP's, case review meetings and dismissal/appeal hearings.

  • Develop manager capability and best practice in line with relevant policies and procedures.

  • Lead/support the HR Business Partner on disciplinary and grievance casework, ensuring the implementation of legislation, policy and best practice.

  • Coordinate and analyse HR month-end reports in an accurate and timely manner.

  • Work with the centralised HR Service Delivery team to ensure appropriate documentation is processed within agreed timescales and forward to the Payroll department as required.

  • Assist in the design and delivery of development workshops in areas of HR best practice to enhance the knowledge and skills of managers within client areas.

  • Support the team with generalist HR support as required, to include projects, support in employment relations, process reviews and other support as requested.

  • Deputise within the department in the absence of the HR Business Partner.

  • Undertake any other duties as requested by the HR Business Partner, within the scope of the role.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

Essential Skills:

  • Certificate in Human Resource Management or progress towards a CIPD qualification.

  • Sound knowledge of HR policies, procedures and best practice.

  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Good interpersonal and numeric skills, and ability to prioritise workload.

  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office.

  • Ability to present data.

Essential Knowledge/Experience:

  • Experience of working in a fast paced customer service environment.

  • Detailed experience of administrative work, employee relations, and Employment Law.

  • Interpreting, advising and implementing HR policy, procedures and best practice such as: Grievances, disciplinary, appeals, absence management, family friendly, performance management.


  • CIPD qualification

  • Knowledge of HR databases.
