Workingat TheSheratonGrandLondon Park Lane has been such a fantastic experience for me. As anenthusiastic Assistant Bar Manger,, it is my job to ensure that ourprofitability is maximized, costs are controlled effectively, and to drive theoverall standing and products on offer withinSmith & Whistle. Itismy responsibility to ensure thatoperations run at maximum efficiency while delivering a producttoguest that willreturnfor time and time again.
Essentially,it is my job to ensure that memories are created for all our guests, clientsand customers not only when visiting the bar but also during their entire timewith us. While guests will notice the surroundings of the hotel, it is thepersonal interactions they will remember and this is at the centre of my role.
Ireport directly into theBarand Lounge Manager andworkalongside the other departments and my colleagues in the F&B team; workingsuccessfully with other people and departments is key to our overall successand includes building lasting relationships with the Kitchen team, Finance andFront Office.

Mymainresponsibilitiesareto train new members of the team effectively in order to maximise salesopportunities. My strong leadership skills are very important in guiding amotivated and customer focused team. Another aspect of my job is to guaranteethat daily communications between all staff members are clear and met in asatisfactory manner. Working closely with my manager often involves generatingideas for future promotions and projects that help drive the guest experienceor other aspects of the business. On top of that I also assist my manager increating weekly rotas and ensure all payroll costs are met successfully. Beingorganised is very important to me, in order to make sure that my departmentalgoals and targets are met.
TheF&B Team attheSheraton Grand London Park Lane arelike a big family and I thoroughly enjoycoming in for my shift and working with such a fantastic team.
