We are currently recruiting for a Senior Mechanical Development Engineer to join our team on a permanent basis.

Reporting to the Head of Mechanical Engineering, this is a key role where the successful individual will be assigned to multiple projects, leading teams of engineers and responsible for all aspects of mechanical engineering, supporting commercial, design, procurement, manufacturing, build and testing activities, and liaising with customers, suppliers & partners.

Duties will be wide ranging and varied and will include leading the development, implementation and reporting of build, test and development plans to deliver a robust and validated product for the projects. You will be responsible for the definition and implementation of departmental and company systems & processes, and work closely with the head of department to develop the mechanical engineering team skills and capabilities, as well as providing mentoring for the team.

The successful candidate will hold an engineering degree, and have experience of mechanical engineering, with a proven track record of delivering complex projects to demanding timescales. You will have experience of managing project teams and be comfortable in liaising with customers and suppliers at all levels.

Previous experience in the specialist automotive or motorsport industry is desirable, however we are also interested in applicants who can demonstrate how experience gained outside of these industries could be transferable to an advanced engineering environment. Practical skills (machining, fabricating and assembly) and knowledge of 3D CAD and would be beneficial.
