Job Title: Head of Mission Critical Solutions Req ID: 99020BR Location(s): Harlow Summary of Role: Accountable and reporting directly to the Managing Director, Defence of Raytheon UK, the Lead of the Mission Critical Solutions (MCS) Business has Profit & Loss responsibility and leadership of the Mission Critical Solutions Business across multiple sites and for all programmes within the business area. The Mission Critical Solutions Business spans a number of areas including: • ATMS, Land Solutions and APNT, which is responsible for the delivery of multiple complex products/services/programmes and ATMS programmes. • Power Systems, this is responsible for the large scale manufacture of complex integrated power products and solutions many of which are delivered in to the US, UK and international customers. Main Duties: The Lead is responsible for P&L and the balance sheet for the MCS Business mission area which has annual sales of approximately £50-75M. The role also includes the setting and delivering the strategy to grow the business and for optimising the organisation and resources to maximise value to the company. Key Responsibilities: • The Lead of the MCS business is accountable for providing strategic business and P&L financial direction for one of the four Raytheon Systems Limited (RSL) Mission Area Businesses in the UK. You will lead strategy development, strategic relationships, the annual planning process, business capture, project management, Business governance and asset management. • The Lead is responsible for defining the strategic position regarding the resources and investments being made in the technology, new business proposals, product systems and infrastructure. The Lead reviews and approves programmes and project plans, and will lead opportunities for the business. • The role reports directly to the Managing Director, Defence. • As a member of the Defence Leadership team, you will be responsible for providing overall direction and support to RSL businesses for company acquisition, product development, delivery and cross-business team requirements. You will assist in the development of common Raytheon UK products and services, align Business strategy and leverage from corporate strategies and services. Experience in Operations is a key differentiator in this role. Candidate Requirements: Essential : Strong leadership experience in which the following occurred: • Demonstrated competency for strategic thinking and leadership with strong abilities in relationship management; • Demonstrated high competency in Profit and Loss Business Management and the execution and implementation of multiple and / or large, complex projects. Project management: experience in organising, planning and executing large-scale projects from vision through implementation; including leading cross functional teams involving internal personnel, contractors, and vendors, analysing project needs and resources required to meet objectives; • Successfully developed and implemented product lines in established and new environments using new and emerging technologies; • Established a track record of managing staff through various life-cycle phases (cross-functional experience highly desirable); • Demonstrated leadership of multidiscipline, high-performance teams; • Building/ Coaching / Mentoring of teams; • Managed financial resources to meet goals and multiple product schedules; • Demonstrated competency in relating efficient and effective solutions to diverse and complex business problems; • Proven ability to work as an individual, and as a member of a team and ability to manage large teams within tight deadlines; • Proven strategic planning and execution experience; • Strong operations experience, Engineering or Programme Management in both service and manufacturing environments Desirable: • Experience within UK / US / International defence industry. • Political and customer / stakeholder relationships within UK/US defence industry. • Experience managing in a complex International Logistics and Licencing environment • Experience of effective management of programmes using Earned Value Management, EVM • Member of a relevant Engineering or Programme Management Professional Institution Education and Experience • Degree or equivalent • Programme Leadership experience and/or programme management certification • Extensive Defence or ATMS experience or equivalent • Proven track record in Business Development in the MCS Product domains • Well developed network within the MCS domains About Raytheon: Raytheon UK is a subsidiary of Raytheon Company.
