Data Warehouse Developer

Communication Surveillance Technology Group

We in the Citi Communication Surveillance Technology group are working towards understanding and detecting risky behaviour through how people communicate. With our rich active dataset, we strive to understand the big picture and to provide our users with the highest ‘best in class’ detection and the most user-friendly interfaces.

As a Data Warehouse Developer, you should have a passion for data and analytics with strong experience in database administration and developing data warehouses (SQL). You must be able to both engage with senior leaders to design well-constructed SQL packages and work cross-functionally with analysts, product managers and engineers to effectively deliver robust solutions. We are looking for a well-rounded top performer who is able to collect and analyse the correct. You must be a self-starter with a high degree of rigor, organization, and discipline to get results. You must be able to effectively communicate and deliver complex data-driven findings with product managers.

The ideal candidate is a strong team player and solution-oriented thinker with a strong background in SQL and database administration. You should be able to work well independently and have experience in developing robust ETL processes for state of the art business intelligence solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

•Development of SQL scripts/queries, views and complex data models

•Statistical analysis of data and ability to provide detailed feedback

•Self starter and provide hands-on support to project team

•Recognize areas for improvement, set a plan and execute

•Solution documentation, bug tracking and Agile sprint management

•Helping users answer the ‘business questions’ by developing BI ETL connectors into various data sources

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

•Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, management information systems, or engineering

•Extensive years’ experience working with SQL tools e.g. Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server etc

•Strong understanding of Communication Surveillance with at least Extensive years of experience developing applications for Global Banks

•Experience in enterprise scale partitioned databases and business intelligence architecture

•Experience with business intelligence and reporting is a must e.g. with Cognos, Microstrategy, Qlik or Tableau

•Experience in understanding business requirements and quickly turning them into results

•Discipline around agile software development

•Understanding of Big Data technologies and a desire to develop solutions using such platforms

•Extensive years’ experience coding shell scripts and writing Linux commands

•Excellent hands-on technical and business skills

•Hands-on SQL coding and code review capabilities

•High client focus, high level of internal motivation, and the drive to produce results

•Proactive team player with a willingness to both teach others and learn new techniques

Preferred Requirements:

•Extensive years of relevant work experience.

•Experience of query plans, SQL optimization and performance tuning

•Experience with business consulting / stakeholder management

•Experience in test planning and oversight, and the ability to benchmark test plans against requirements is desired

•Experience working with virtual cross-functional / matrix teams
