Brown-Forman Finance Assistant in London, United Kingdom
This role forms part of the support to the business management team. This role will provide reporting, analysis & accounting support for the UK region which delivers depletions for the region which is the largest region in the world outside of the US.
This position will work closely with the Finance Manager and the Pricing Analyst as well as the brand managers. The position will provide analytical/accounting support and assist with reporting and control processes for depletions, cost of sales, A&P, invoicing, SG&A (T&E) & the Cost Share Agreement.
Daily and Monthly Reporting, 40%
Prepare the monthly P&L pack and Regional report
Prepare the monthly SG&A and T&E reports
Sit with managers to discuss YTD T&E variances
Prepare the Daily Sales Report
Prepare final monthly depletions reports for the region & Key Customer report
Prepare the CSA reconciliation and perform relevant investigations/analyses
Prepare brand spend reconciliation every month
Hold quarterly reviews with brand managers
Prepare end of year accruals/reconciliation
Monitor PY accrual usage
Accounting control and queries, 40%
Process Brand Expense data received from Bacardi for the UK Cost Share Agreement so that it can be reporting in B-F’s books
Track and notify any transfers of Brand Spend from SG&A from the marketing teams and reconcile this on a quarterly basis.
Assist with enquiries on SG&A relating to any variances or any unexpected entries.
Process any exceptional Brand Expense invoices that need to be processed outside of the BBFB system
Provide support for any queries relating to any Brand Expense payments made through Prodagio
Manage the wire transfer and cheque payment process (Bank of America Online)
Reconciliations between SAP & management excel tracking sheets (at projections & year-end) relating to brand spend & discounts
Advise others on Prodagio processing queries
Advise others on Necho use and how to re-charge directly to brand spend
Commercial Support and Analytical Insights, 20%
Varied analytical support and controlling in respect of brand marketing budgets, quarterly projections, monthly actual results, commercial decision making support, inventory tracking etc.
COGS variance analysis (Standards COGS, Freight, Other Cost of Sales, Gift COGS)
Demonstrated ability to make decisions independently based on logical assumptions and factual information.
Experience with computer applications in accounting, budgeting and financial analysis. (in particular advanced PC skills incl. Excel and PowerPoint)
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects to completion by agreed deadlines.
Familiar in working with foreign currencies, exchange rates, and conversion factors.
Fluency in English language.
Working towards CIMA, ACA, ACCA
Experience in the wine and spirits industries or FMCG
Experience with SAP and BW
Experience of managing projects to completion.
Good Excel knowledge
Ability to think conceptually and strategically.
Strong oral and written communications skills.
Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
