8x8 Presales Network Engineer in London, United Kingdom

JOB SUMMARY

The Presales Network Engineer is responsible for helping Sales Engineers during the sales cycle. The Network Engineer will analyse the customer network, collect customer network assessment, update System Design Document, and train internally the Sales team. The Network Engineer also assists Sales Engineers with the customer network design and recommendations and assists with troubleshooting network related issues during trials.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides hands-on technical assistance to customers, resellers, vendors and prospects of 8x8. Participates in the sales cycle, as well as the Design Review Meeting with Sales, Engineering and Project Management team members

  • Updates System Requirement Document

  • Identifies network design issues and follow-up with the Project Manager for resolution with the Customer

  • Helps Sales Engineer during the trial phase: Kick off, Follow up, Troubleshooting

  • Performs site survey, assesses the results and gives recommendation

  • Ensures that System Design Document and deployed solution meets customer’s specific requirements

  • Provides technical assistance for Sales Engineers on the network

  • Provides on-site and remote training

  • Improves customer success by improving deployment processes, and by contributing to the improvement of tools and systems used to support a variety of deployment tasks. Responsible for staying abreast of current Telecommunications, UC, Contact Centre, VoIP technologies and industry trends

  • Provides full documentation of the deployment to assist in the successful transition of the customer to our support teams

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent

  • Experience in deploying communication systems

  • Expertise in Networking including LAN, WAN and Wireless LAN.

  • Advanced knowledge in routeing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, EIGRP.

  • Expertise in SIP & VoIP systems

  • Expertise in analysing network capture (Wireshark)

  • Working knowledge of telephony, PBX, Contact centre and UC technology Experience configuring routers, troubleshooting LAN/VoIP systems

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership of projects

  • Excellent interpersonal skills demonstrated in a customer facing environment Strong organisational and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment

  • Flexible schedule to accommodate travel
