Senior Consultant in Health Economics Outcomes Research, RWES

The QuintilesIMS Real-World Evidence Solutions (RWES) department is fast-growing and highly successful, focusing upon delivering tangible business results to clients in the international pharmaceutical and healthcare industries. The team includes approximately 400 professionals working in based in 18 countries world-wide and includes real-world evidence, epidemiology, outcomes research and biostatistics as well as health economics. Expanding and extending our RWE capability is at the heart of the merger of IMS and Quintiles, QuintilesIMS

The London team is the largest group of health economists in QuintilesIMS, best known for cost-effectiveness modelling, network meta-analysis and HTA submissions in the UK and elsewhere. Around three quarters of our work has an international component and we collaborate frequently with colleagues in pricing and market access, real world evidence, and the QuintilesIMS HE teams overseas. We are one of few organizations that are able to integrate real-world evidence solutions, health economics, and outcomes research and market access and to provide global reach and commercially relevant delivery to our clients. Overview of HEOR team

Our HEOR team includes around 200 highly qualified multi-disciplinary experts. They are based in 12 geographies and have delivered projects covering over 50 countries.

The HEOR practice is part of the IMS Real World Evidence Solutions (RWES) division. RWES brings together IMS initiatives that connect healthcare stakeholders through real-world evidence to demonstrate the value of medicines, enhance quality and drive improved outcomes.

The group includes colleagues working in the following key areas:

  • Real-World Evidence Solutions: Global Health Economics and Outcomes Research

  • Government Solutions

  • Payer and Provider

  • Clinical Trials

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing HEOR and RWE projects, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery of projects or components of large multi-country projects.

  • Liaising with other departments and geographies within IMS, and managing sub-contractors.

  • Coaching, with mentoring responsibility for several team members.

  • Contributing to business development, mainly through attracting follow-up work to successful projects and by leading the development of proposals in response to RFPs.

  • Attend and present at client and other external meetings in the home base country and elsewhere in Europe and the US, normally accompanied by a senior or junior colleague (depending on the client and meeting objectives). Required Knowledge A thorough knowledge of HEOR/RWE methods and approaches plus a working knowledge of consulting methodologies and general business practices is required. Also understanding of the health care sector and the pharmaceutical market, gained through the delivery of consulting engagements and ideally also through experience in the pharmaceutical or medical devices sector outside consulting. Skills, Experience and Education Required:

  • BA/BSc in science, economics or a related discipline

  • Postgraduate qualification in economics, health economics, and health services research or a relevant related area.

  • The same qualifications and skills required of a Consultant, but with additional deeper, more varied experience and a demonstrated commitment to either extending academic training in HEOR or RWE, or developing managerial capabilities.

  • Experience of working in teams, supervising staff and developing client relationships.

  • Strong capabilities in managing projects and juggling priorities.

  • Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills to accomplish team goals.
