Travel Retail EMEA - Finance Business Manager

Travel Retail EMEA would like to recruit a Finance Business Manager. This role will work with the Europe Middle East Africa regional sales, training and marketing teams, providing financial analysis, support and control to ensure achievement of annual business plan for allocated brands.

The key accountabilities for this position are outlined below:

Manage and own the annual planning process.

  • Co ordinate preparation of annual sales, OPEX and profit plan at customer, area and regional level. Present to management

  • Co ordination of variance from budget presentation.

  • On going review of performance against plan; explanation of variance; forecast year end results;revise where necessary.

Budget Responsibility and Accountability - Monthly Accounts

Ensure timely and accurate processing of all supplier invoices through purchase ledger

  • On going management and review of expense variances from plan with function head.

  • Review of nominal run for unusual items – investigate and resolve.

  • Control of accrual and prepayment process.

  • Presentation of profit and loss statement to senior management with explanation of variances from plan and over prior year.

  • Forecast full year implications of variances on business plan.

Budget Responsibility and Accountability - Reporting - Financial

  • Maintenance of accurate financial reporting systems.

  • On going review of currency movements to control impact on revenue/cost streams.

  • Preparation and presentation of monthly management review package.

  • Preparation and presentation of Area Sales Management review package.

  • Preparation and presentation of P&L statements covering customer profitability; staff productivity; investment returns; marketing and promotional activity; new door openings; new business opportunities.

Budget Responsibility and Accountability Reporting - Sales

  • Co ordination of retail and net sales reporting systems.

  • Maintenance of sales accrual process

  • Presentation of monthly sales forecast to senior management

  • Review of sales mix by category and area to ensure gross profitability objectives.

  • Sales mix by currency for multicurrency hedging program.

Ad Hoc

  • Ensure accurate records are maintained of all major expense areas for brand.

  • Ensure accurate records of all contractual agreements for brand.

  • Maintenance of capital register for brand

  • Preparation of brand related data for sales and marketing meetings and key customer presentations.

  • Identification and implementation of business process improvements

  • Provide financial advice and support to all member of brand team

  • Ensure SOX compliance and procedures


To be considered for this role candidates must be able to demonstrate the following requirements:

  • A CIMA or ACCA Qualification and experienced of using SAP

  • A strategic mind-set with the ability to plan and identify the appropriate focus for the business

  • Able to build collaborative working relationships at all levels

  • Analytical with strong communication skills both written and verbal

  • Previous experience of working in a fast paced, complex business environment
