We are currently looking for a new CAD Group Leader to join our UK Engineering Team based in Loughborough, Leicestershire.
Location – Loughborough
Salary - Competitive dependent on skills and experience plus excellent benefits package.

As a working Group Leader you will manage a small team of CAD Engineers that provide CAD support for an engineering group and product development. You will ensure that CAD standards are maintained and that the 3M in house document controls and licencing procedures are complied with. The position would be based at Loughborough but the role would engage with stakeholders and the engineering team located at other sites across the UK.
People manager with proven leadership qualities
Highly motivated, self-driven to complete a task with minimal supervision
Strong collaboration skills
CAD skills should be 2D and 3D
Has an appropriate engineering background, design or project engineering
Is willing to travel to all UK sites as and when required
Has a full UK driving licence
Supervise, lead and manage 2 CAD Engineers
Prioritise, Plan and Organise workload for the group
Communicate with all stakeholders including face to face at 3M UK sites
Ensure that drafting standards are adhered to
Ensure that archiving and document standards are maintained
Completion of administration tasks including timesheets and costings
Completes project work allocated to this role
Provide ad-hoc support to the engineering teams
Coordinate and manage upgrades of CAD or documentation systems with 3M colleagues or external vendors
Knowledge & Skills
Supervisory / Team manager experience
Proven experience in an engineering role
Competent user of 3D CAD packages, preferably ‘Siemens NX’, with experience in 3D CAD design
Experience of layout design, assembly and detailed drawings
An understanding of engineering project processes
Good working knowledge in engineering drafting to BS 8888
Knowledge of Engineering Standards, CE marking and PUWER
Knowledge of Building regulations
- Has design or engineering qualifications to HNC or equivalent
