Due to the success and growth of our business, SAS are now looking to recruit a Financial Analyst to be based out of our offices near Marlow, Buckinghamshire. This position will report into the Financial Planning and Analysis Manager and provide support to both the SAS UK&I business and the wider EMEA region through the provision of high quality, insightful financial analysis and management reporting.

This position will be largely split between three key aspects. Firstly, there is a focus on the analysis of and proactive support to the licence renewals revenue stream. Renewals income accounts for roughly two thirds of SAS UK&I Total Software Revenue (TSR) and is a pivotal aspect of our p&l and ongoing delivery of growth and profitability to our US parent company SAS Inc. Secondly, the role sits within a virtual team, operating across EMEA, focused on the creation and provision of standardised and automated reporting as part of a focus to drive increased efficiency and business focus across SAS Finance. Lastly, and by no means least, this role will support the FP&A Manager and wider UK&I team to provide analytical insight and deliver the forecasting process to ensure business focus on delivering strong performance throughout the year.

Primary Role Responsibilities:

Renewals Revenue –

  • Provide analysis and insight of the renewals revenue performance of SAS UK&I delivering effective commercial and financial support including:

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of all financial information and analysis, ensuring one view of the truth

  • Ensuring the quality and range of management information provided is consistently and effectively delivered and developed on an on-going basis

  • Engage with Finance and Commercial & Legal colleagues to proactively manage debt position and drive the right behaviours across the business for achieving optimum collection

  • Monitor and communicate licenses at risk of or having gone past the renewal date and yet to be resolved to enable risk capture and mitigation, provide insight to support any cancellations

  • Support the effective financial planning processes for the SAS UK&I organisation through the provision of;

  • Detailed capture of all renewals deals, potential risks and rationale to deliver timely and accurate forecast submissions to the business

  • Full transparency of corporate financial plans providing the basis for sound business investment decisions by executive management

  • Plays a key supporting role in the on-going monitoring of performance against the plan and ensuring it is updated to reflect evolving business strategies

Information Network (EMEA virtual team) –

  • Work as part of a small virtual team based in different EMEA regions serving the wider Finance function and its SAS stakeholders

  • Be proactive within the team to design, implement and maintain the delivery of standardised reporting and analysis across EMEA

  • Demonstrate a commercial mindset to consider Information Network (IN) outputs from a non-Finance perspective and ensure that the team is stakeholder and business focused

  • Adopt a collaborative working style to support the Principal Business Partners operating across EMEA

  • Prioritise workload to enable response to business requests in an agile and efficient manner

FP&A/UK&I Finance Focus –

  • To provide support to the FP&A manager and wider UK&I team including but not limited to –

  • Supporting the completion of the forecasting cycle, monitoring the forecasting system to maintain quality and completeness of data within the submission

  • Ensuring FP&A operations are discharged as fully, effectively and efficiently as possible on an on-going basis

  • Devise notes for key role functions and ensure that effective cover exists at all times to promote optimal flexibility and longer term succession planning

  • Adopt a proactive approach to identify and implement improvements to existing operations to the benefit of the department and wider company

  • Any other ad-hoc support as required by the FP&A Manager

What we are looking for:

  • Full accountancy qualification (CIMA, ACCA or equivalent) with post qualification experience

  • Strong management accounting and analytical experience gained within a medium sized commercial organisation. Commercially aware and able to see the bigger picture of the organisation and not just the Finance perspective

  • Demonstrable analytical skills - being able to understand and interpret data to provide clear and concise summary reporting to senior management

  • Previous experience of budgeting/forecasting cycles with direct involvement in delivering to demanding timeframes – an ability to work under pressure to a high level of accuracy

  • Strong systems experience;

  • High calibre MS Excel skills (advanced formula use essential)

  • Demonstrable use of database orientated systems to extract and manipulate information

  • Ability to handle large quantities of data from a range of sources and consolidate into concise, informative reporting and analysis

  • Experience/awareness of broader Finance function responsibilities within a medium sized commercial organisation

  • A self-starter with the drive and tenacity to make things happen and a proven completer-finisher

  • An ability to generate ideas, sell them and see them through to a successful conclusion

  • A real focus on results and goal delivery. Un-phased by ambiguity in data with a determination and will to continuously improve and challenge the status quo

  • Good communication skills, able to converse/present and be credible at varying levels across the wider business

  • Good sense of humour and team focus. Can integrate and work easily with others and be flexible to support their development and achievement of goals

  • High degree of care for the quality of product / services produced from the Finance function
