Finance Risk Associate

Our UK Finance Risk Office has a unique role to play supporting all aspects of risk management in the UK Finance department, we also partner with US and Canadian teams and manage Sarbanes Oxley compliance for the UK business.

The Finance Risk Associate will partner with colleagues across these teams and ensure UK Finance Risk Stewards are abreast of the latest risk management activities and are sufficiently informed to execute these. The role will also ensure UK Finance maintain appropriate information in our risk management system of record. The role also provides support for Sarbanes-Oxley compliance in our Tech department.

So what will you do?

  • Work with other members of the Risk Office to help build awareness of risk management across all teams supported

  • Be the Risk Office point of contact for the UK Finance teams

  • Act as Business Continuity Liaison for Finance

  • Support business continuity plan owners in developing and maintaining their plans

  • Own and drive the process excellence agenda for the Finance Risk Office

  • Manage key reporting for the team

  • Help to facilitate Risk Management Governance activities

  • Manage the Finance Risk Office team board (workflow)

  • Deputise for team members as appropriate

Sarbanes-Oxley Compliance

  • Support other team members in ensuring ongoing compliance with the requirements of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act for the UK business

  • Be the point of contact for Tech Sarbanes-Oxley controls to include:

  • Providing support to identify ‘in scope’ processes

  • Supporting Tech in the documentation of new processes and the identification of risks and controls. Facilitate the validation process and ongoing review and streamlining of documentation for these controls

  • Helping to coordinate testing of Tech controls & perform testing of certain controls

  • Ensuring Sarbanes-Oxley requirements are considered in all new Tech projects, supporting identification of risks and mitigating controls

  • Manage the Change Moratorium process for Tech controls to maintain Sarbanes Oxley compliance whilst supporting business needs

We would love it if you are/have:

  • Part or fully qualified accountant / AAT

  • Previous experience in Internal or External Audit or some previous experience of risk management

  • Experience of Financial Controls development or review

  • Basic Project Management experience

  • Great communication skills and enjoy working collaboratively

  • An appetite for best practice and good risk management

  • Some experience of liaising effectively and influencing colleagues of all levels

  • Curious
