We are seeking a talented and self-motivated Testing Engineer with deep experience in technical testing of Big Data systems using automated tools. The role will be within an agile team in our Kidlington office to help test and quality assure a platform for analyzing our content and extracting copyright and compliance data. This is an exciting new opportunity to play a key role in changing the way in which we provide value to the publishing industry and protect our content.
You are focused on quality and have used metrics to drive continuous improvements in software delivery. You will devise and implement an automated testing framework, integrated into our continuous integration infrastructure, to allow rapid deployment of our Spark pipeline. This will allow fast feedback of results as part of our agile delivery methodology. Automated testing will enable rapid deployment of each iteration of the code base and improve the quality of the product.
You should bring experience in:
Assuring that software runs successfully inProduction and exhibits all the Reliability, Availability, Security andPerformance qualities as well as being functionally correct.
Tracking bugs and issues to resolution andbeing responsible for clearly communicating their status to stakeholders
Automated testing of Big Data solutions, ideallywith Scala running on Spark in a cloud-based environment.
Integrating that testing into an automatedcontinuous integration pipeline.
Testing frameworks such as ScalaTest andScalaMock and integrating this with automated build tools such as GoCD andJenkins.
Writing sufficient code to support thetesting framework
AWS infrastructure (EC2, S3 etc.) and deploymenttools such as Terraform and containerization technologies such as Mesos orDocker.
Working in agile development teams,contributing to agile ceremonies such as standups and grooming andparticipating in retrospectives.
Pairing with developers to lead and developa collective responsibility to quality assurance.
You should also have a collaborative stylethat will enable you to work with Product Managers to understand the outcomesthat the software is attempting to deliver and working with Technical Leadersto communicate test outcomes.
