The infrastructure, support services and construction group, Robertson, is looking for a Proposals Writer to work for their construction group based in Stirling or Haydock.

Bid and proposal production is key to securing future business. Production timeframes are short and the competition is fierce. We bid for a wide range of contracts across the UK, ranging in value from £100k to £200 million plus. Documents submitted for each bid must be accurate, convincing, engaging, easy to use and effectively tailored to each client and project.

  • Lead the completion of PQQs and tender quality submissions at the pre-qualification and bidding stage;

  • work closely with Bid Team members to meet submission deadlines, share information and best practice;

  • develop effective headlines, bid winning themes and answer plans;

  • prepare and input to presentations as required;

  • update and maintain database/library of PQQ and bid responses;

  • embrace learning and development opportunities to continuously improve skills and quality of submissions;

  • contribute effectively towards maintaining a positive working environment;

  • play a key part in the team.

  • Preferred tertiary qualification but not essential, depending on experience

  • Previous experience creating convincing, effective documents to a high standard

  • Previous experience in a similar role from a construction or project management background is preferred, although other experience would be considered eg marketing

  • Strong IT skills including MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, while InDesign experience would be an advantage, but not mandatory

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to communicate effectively at all levels

  • Ability and desire to work as part of a team

  • Research skills and the drive to follow up on research and widen knowledge base

The working hours for this role are 38.75 hours per week
