Role

  • Undertaking mechanical design elements for major projects

  • Work closely with principal designers to lead Building Services Design

  • Managing the production of drawings and reports and preparing co-ordinating mechanical specifications

  • Supervising and co-ordinating the work of others and co-ordinating work with engineers of other disciplines

  • Attending meetings and communicating with clients to establish their needs

  • Manage project team to ensure production of deliverables to agreed timelines and within budget

  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior members of the team

Requirements and skills

  • Degree qualified and have achieved or working towards a professional qualification

  • Proven experience in the field of mechanical design and experience across a range of medium to large scale projects and / or building types

  • Be able to design and deliver mechanical engineering solutions on major and/or complex projects

  • Experience of leading teams on multi-disciplinary projects

  • Able to understand the balance of engineering priorities on differing projects

  • Able to quickly develop successful client relationships

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines is essential

  • Excellent planning and organisation skills

  • Excellent communications skills (both written and verbal)

  • Able to demonstrate strong commercial awareness

  • Experience in the design of mechanical systems for large scale Data Centres would be advantageous
