Education & Experience Requirements
Education - Bachelor or higher degree.
8-12 years’ experience in working in IT services organization.
At least 8+ years of SQL DBA experiencecovering implementation, production support and project work.At least 4+ years of exposure as L3 support role.
At least 2 years’ experience working in an environment where ITIL processes are implemented
At least 2 years’ experience in working with UK / US clients.
In client facing role(s) for at least 5 years.
On call support for at least 5 years.
Excellent Documentations skills in MS SharePoint 2010 /2013
Mandatory skills-SQLServer administration required skills
Senior SME levelSQLDBA with extensive experience in large and critical environments.
Good knowledge of performance tuning at both server level and query level. Candidate must be knowledge of perfmon, SQL Server dynamic management views.
Good knowledge of SQL server internals
Good knowledge of SQL partitioning
Hands-on experience on mirroring, log shipping and replication.
Good knowledge of scripting. Ability to write T-Sql scripts, vb-scripts, PowerShell or SSIS packages.
Hands-on experience on SQL Server Clustering
Hands-on experience on Integration Services, Reporting services and Analysis services
Good to have skills
MySQL knowledge / experience.
PowerShell, batch scripting.
Sybase and Linux Knowledge.
Application support (Murex, Calypso, Bloomberg, Reuters etc.)
ITIL v3 Foundation Certified
- MS certifications on SQL 2008 / 2012
High Level Role Responsibilities and Interpersonal skills needed for this role
Ability to think about a problem, identify what we have and implement solutions to solve the problem independently
Work with onsite client team / Application owners in US / UK to Migrate Applications, Database building and Decommissioning
Should be flexible to work in shifts, predominantly UK OR US shifts
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to think in and out of the box.
Self-motivated, conscientious, dedicated individual who works equally well independently or as a member of a team
Must be willing to take responsibility and ownership instead of waiting to be assigned work
Must be willing to participate in follow the sun support for SQL, Sybase
The candidate must be willing to provide weekend support for SQL, Sybase and MYSQL, the support is rotated among DBA's in US and India
Enable and support the team in resolving day-to-day production issues, application upgrades and patches, performance analysis, disaster recovery implementation, capacity planning and other activities as may be necessary.
Work on Change implementations during UK, US business hours & weekends as per change management process
Available on call to drive major incident / outage resolutions
Documentation & Operational performance reporting
Own Service Improvements
Execute on demand IT projects
Drive compliance to client and organization processes and policies
Ensure Quality of deliverables
