Job Summary:

The Network Manager EMEA primary focus in on maintaining the availability of network services within EMEA and providing network support to all internal / external customers. The EMEA Network Support team consisting of onshore, near shore and offshore engineering staff. The Network Manager EMEA will ensure that all project and ITIL related workstreams are allocated to the relevant skilled member of staff and ensure that the requirements are delivered within the agreed timelines. The Network Manager EMEA will ensure that the EMEA network infrastructure is maintained and complies with all Company compliance requirements. The Network Manager EMEA will provide technical leadership to the EMEA Network Support staff and will implement measures to ensure staff perform at the correct level. The Network Manager EMEA will stay current with all relevant technologies and ensure that all members of staff maintain a technical knowledge required to support / maintain the current network infrastructure and any future enhancements.

General Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage the EMEA Network Support team (onshore, nearshore and offshore) technical staff

  • Maintain the EMEA Network Infrastructure ensuring uptime SLAs are met / exceeded and the infrastructure is maintained as per vendor recommendations

  • Design and implement short and long-term strategic plans to make certain network capacity meets existing and future requirements

  • Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for network resource administration and appropriate use.

  • Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory, life cycle management and related documentation

  • Provides “ownership” of problem thru final resolution.

  • Plan, acquire, and coordinate installation of in-house and remote hardware and software across the organization’s network

  • Conduct research and make recommendations on network products, services, protocols, and standards in support of network procurement and development efforts

  • Aid in the preparation of RFPs, bid proposals, contracts, scope of work reports, and other documentation for IT projects and associated efforts

  • Manage vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to ensure that services are maintained to the highest level

  • Assess, approve, and administer all equipment, hardware, and software upgrades

  • Manage and ensure optimal operation of all network hardware within EMEA

  • Address any vulnerabilities, issues or concerns highlighted by internal / external testing and audits (inclucing PCI)

  • Acts as Technical lead / Point of Escalation for complex network issues, provding resolution for network incidents and problems that cannot be resolved by the Network Support team

  • Creates and implements technical documentation, best practice guides and processes to be used / followed by the Network Support team

  • Monitors and allocates the ITIL worksteams ensuring high priority requests are prioritised and maintains the OLA / SLAs

  • Documents and communicates opportunities to leverage inter-project synergies and enterprise Network infrastructure to expose Value and agility across the business

  • Documents and publishes appropriate architecture principles and standards, position papers, blueprints, best practices, patterns and frameworks Creates and maintains network documentation including: High level / low level designs, Network Diagrams, network procedures / processes, configuration templates and knowledge base articles

  • Reviews functional and technical designs to identify areas of risk and/or missing requirements

  • Manages Incident and Problem management workstreams via the ITIL based CRM system adhering to SLA / delivery timelines ensuring that worklogs are regulary updated and root cause analysis is identified

  • Completes Service Requests allocated via the ITIL based CRM system within the agreed timelines

Responds to customer requests as defined by management completing assignments in a timely manner with an acceptable level of quality

  • Prepares weekly status reports on allocated workstreams as defined by the EMEA Network Manager

  • Carries out peer review for network / firewall related changes and adheres to the ITIL Change Management process

  • Completes network change requests in accordance with service level agreements.

  • Carries out other related duties as defined and allocated by the EMEA Network Manager

  • Adheres to the policies and procedures as defined by FIS Global

Technical Knowledge & Experience:

  • Held a simiar position managing Level 3 network staff in supporting both network architecture and client services

  • Able to demonstrate strong knowledge and hands on experience of Network architecture including: Routing, Switching, Security, VPNs and MPLS

  • Have previous experience supporting multi vendor environments such as: Cisco, Juniper, Checkpoint, Palo Alto , F5 or A10

  • Experience in building , supporting and maintaining multi vendor Network Infrastructure used to support a computing environment

  • Have knowledge and experience of Network Monitoring systems such as: Solarwinds or Spectrum CA

  • Experience with project related workstreams and able to deliver to tight timelines whilst under pressure

  • Be proficent in presenting architectural concepts to both technical and non technical audiences

  • Have experience in managing and prioritising multiple workstreams whilst maintaining SLA and delivery timelines

  • Knowledge of ITILv3 methodoligies including: Incident Management, Problem Management and Change Management

  • Be able to communicate both verbally and in written form in a clear, concise, and professional manner to both internal and external clients

  • Have an analytical approach to problem solving, able to work under pressure and have a “can do” attitude

  • Have a positive outlook, be a team player, have a strong work ethic and able to manage / prioritise own workstreams

Advantageous Knowledge & Experience

  • Any current vendor qualitfications

  • Any experience with Cisco Nexus platforms

  • Any previous working knowledge of carrier network services

  • Prevous experience with Load Balancers including: A10, F5 etc.

  • Previous experience using ServiceNow or similar CRM sytems

  • Previous experience in a Financial or FINTEC enviroment

  • ITILv3 qualifications or experience

  • Knowledge of Unix / Wintel / Database infrastructure

Education Requirements:

  • Preferably with a degree in a technical discipline or be able to demonstrate the equivalent level of knowledge based on a combination of education, training and / or work experience
