What responsibilities will you have?

Working within the Technology Growth Platform and the AS Sales, the Solution Architect has a key role in the supporting the origination, solution configuration and closure of new and extended Technology opportunities.

  • Assisting the Sales Director and Market Makers in the Client Service Groups and AD in the origination and qualification of new SI opportunities that support the overall sales target for UK/I

  • Rapid assimilation of the “As Is” situation at the client through direct meetings with client sponsors, analysis of data and use of external metrics to build up a baseline position

  • Able to translate “As Is” situations, buyer requirements into standard solutions and develop the approach and the “To Be” business case

  • Define the inputs required to create cost estimates; Preparing the cost model estimates working with AS Delivery, DCN for Technology (where applicable) and/or GPS / CDTS (pricing team) to shape the cost base of the “To Be” solution

  • Secure solution approval from DCN for Technology and AS Delivery, mitigating risks identified in the reviews

  • Define and articulate the levers of the solution to optimise the cost base during solution iterations

  • Keep up to date with the firm-wide agenda to industrialise delivery and New IT

  • Collaborate with the Client Service Groups and Sales Teams to prepare the pricing and the value proposition

  • Represent Technology Solution Architecture at New Business Meetings, Stage QA Approvals, Technology reviews and participate in Capital Committee reviews as appropriate

  • Participate as a member of the client facing sales team, ensuring the response aligns to the solution, and where needed participating in formal presentations and interactive client workshops.

  • Work with third party advisors (where applicable) and build relationships with key technical sponsors in the client’s organisation

  • Demonstrate commercial acumen in the closure of the sales (including authoring statement of work, schedules and other contractual documents) and supporting negotiation of specific SI elements of the agreement

  • Show appreciation of the competitive environment in which Accenture operate and the positions those competitors have at our client so we can differentiate our solutions accordingly

  • Actively demonstrate stewardship in the handover of the solution to stakeholders in delivery, articulating the elements of the solution needed to deliver success from day one

  • Share knowledge encapsulated in the solution plans, deal economics, responses and solution highlights through the Global SA Portal and Knowledge Exchange


What skills & experience are we looking for?

Deep understanding of SAP products, technologies and competencies, across multiple ‘end-to-end’ SAP solution landscapes including several full life-cycle rollouts.

In addition, for you to demonstrate your experience interacting with senior management levels at a Client and/or within your organisation, which involves negotiating or influencing on significant matters.

Proven Client-facing experience across multiple industries is also highly desired.

  • Strong broad SAP functional and technical expertise, with a good understanding of integration touch-points between modules and applications

  • Sound understanding of the SAP product roadmap

  • Experience or a good understanding of SAP S/4 HANA Enterprise Management, SAP Cloud solutions (SuccessFactors, Ariba, Fieldglass, Concur, Hybris, …), Cloud Hosting and other SAP technology (e.g. Fiori, HANA Cloud Portal, etc.)

  • Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment

  • Excellent Client engagement and communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to conceptualise and communicate complex topics in a clear and understandable manner. Good commercial awareness and experience in planning and estimating

  • Good knowledge of delivery methods for SAP (waterfall and agile) Complex deployment experience, e.g. global template roll-outs

  • Strong career progression to date

  • You must be willing to be London, Manchester or Edinburgh-based, but be fully mobile, i.e. prepared to work away from home Monday to Friday as required.
