The primary purpose of this position is: to perform administrative tasks in training and office support.

  • Obtains/consolidates training requirements and builds and distributes training schedules.
  • Updates training completions and notifies Squadron Commanders of training no shows/unfilled seats.
  • Establishes and maintains files and records. Maintains established files in accordance with the office file plan so that materials may be easily retrieved.
  • Uses office automation software to perform basic functions such as word processing, spreadsheets, slides, electronic mail and Core Automatic Maintenance Systems (CAMS) update of data in electronic files.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience is required for GS-1702-05 level positions which includes knowledge of a body of standardized rules, procedures and operations which require considerable training and experience to perform the full range of standard clerical assignments and resolve recurring problems. Skill, acquired through considerable training or experience, to operate and adjust varied equipment for purposes such as performing numerous standardized tests or operations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the GS-04 grade/level position or equivalent in the federal service. NOTE: You must submit a copy of official transcripts. OR Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. NOTE: You must submit a copy of official transcripts. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience as described above may be used to qualify for this position. NOTE: You must submit a copy of official transcripts.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Knowledge of methods and procedures for performing training tasks. 2. Ability to recognize source documents used and to associate those documents with the appropriate program controls and input procedures. 3. Knowledge of common clerical practices and office routines to include mail distribution procedures. Skill in operating common office equipment. 4. Knowledge of basic word processing functions. Skill of a qualified types is required. A minimum of 40 wpm proficiency is required. Knowledge of basic rules of grammar, spelling, capitalization, and punctuation, and of standard abbreviations. 5. Knowledge of format and clerical procedures to produce a variety of material from different sources. Knowledge of forms and publications procedures. 6. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, using tact and courtesy.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
