We are growing and looking for a highly motivatedrail operations professional to join our rail team at York. As well as ahighly competitive remuneration package this role provides a unique opportunityfor an operator to broaden their knowledge and experience of the rail industryby contributing to a wide range of passenger and rail-freight projects both athome and abroad.

We are looking for a Railway Operations Specialist to joinour growing and exciting Rail Group based in York.


  • To act as the rail operations specialist in amulti-discipline rail infrastructure design team.

  • To act as the rail industry specialist inmultimodal transportation studies.

  • To inform client requirements to ensure thatthey adequately reflect rail industry end user requirements.

  • To inform rail infrastructure design solutionsto ensure that designs are fit for purpose from an operational perspective.

  • To lead on the specification of operationscapacity and performance modelling exercises in support of rail infrastructureschemes.

Essential Skills. Knowledge & Experience:

  • Rail operations specialist with recentexperience working for a TOC, FOC or Network Rail.

  • Detailed understanding of railway operatingprinciples.

  • Good understanding of train planning principles.

  • Good understanding of rail industry structure.

  • Basic understanding of rail industry funding andcommercial principles.

  • Basic understanding of project managementprinciples.

  • Excellent written and verbal communicationskills.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge & Experience:

  • Member of the Institution of Railway Operators.

  • Clean driving licence.

  • Competent in Rules & Regulations.

  • PTS qualified.
