A Restaurant & Bar Manager is responsible for managing restaurantoperations and bar service to deliver an excellent Guest and Member experiencewhile training staff, working within budgeted guidelines and in accordance withlicensing regulations associated with alcoholic beverages.

What will I be doing?

As a Restaurant & Bar Manager, you are responsible for managingrestaurant operations and bar service to deliver an excellent Guest and Memberexperience and is in accordance with licensing regulations associated withalcoholic beverages. A Restaurant & Bar Manager will also be required tomanage, train, and develop team members and work within all budgetedguidelines. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the followingtasks to the highest standards:

  • Manage Restaurant operations
  • Maintain an effective bar service with an emphasis on high quality, efficient service
  • Maintain exceptional levels of customer service
  • Recruit, manage, train and develop the Restaurant team
  • Comply with licensing regulations and hotel procedures relating to the bar and service of alcoholic beverages and conduct staff training sessions accordingly
  • Demonstrate a perfect knowledge of all beverages service in the bar, how beverages are prepared (to recipe) and presented, and how bar personnel are trained to possess this knowledge and the application of it
  • Manage guest queries in a timely and efficient manner
  • Work within budgeted guidelines in relation to Food and Payroll
  • Drive sales to maximize budgeted revenue and increase average spend per person through upselling, high customer service standards, effective training and motivational techniques
  • Develop menus with other members of Food and Beverage team
  • Accountable for monthly stock takes, working with Food & Beverage Cost Control to ensure stock takes are carried out in a timely manner and to ensure food & beverage cost control targets are maintained
  • Meet or exceed the monthly drink profit margin target
  • Incentivise team members to maximize sales and revenue
  • Set departmental targets and objectives, work schedules, budgets, and policies and procedures
  • Evaluate guest satisfaction levels with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Ensure communication meetings are conducted and post-meeting minutes generated
  • Be environmentally aware
  • Assist other departments wherever necessary and maintain good working relationships
  • Comply with hotel security, fire regulations and all health and safety legislation
