We are looking for an experienced generalist /operations professional to join the Alliance and Operations (A&O) team in the Biometrics and Information Sciences (B&I) group as an Operations Specialist.
The goal of B&I is to deliver value to the pipeline by improving decision making, and engaging and shaping the external environment whilst accessing and implementing innovative solutions.
The Alliance and Operations team in B&I coordinates and drives improvements to critical business processes enabling B&I to function effectively and efficiently.
The Operations team deliver different cross functional processes such as quality, recruitment, communications, business performance tracking, training, capacity management etc. We act as business process owners on behalf of B&I and are accountable for defining process strategy and identifying continuous improvement opportunities to ensure the needs of both B&I teams and the AZ business are met.
Operations Specialists partner with Operations Directors and are responsible for supporting deployment and delivery of defined business processes, along with contributing to process enhancement and improvement initiatives. They may also take the lead on key initiatives, depending on skills and experience.
The ideal candidate for this role will have broad experience to support the different cross functional processes within B&I and have a strong customer delivery focus. Attention to detail and a desire to understand detailed processes and how they connect across the business are equally important.
You will support the B&I departments in the areas of operations, processes and people to ensure consistency where possible, in coordination with other B&I Operations team members.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
You will be responsible for co-ordinating tasks and activities relating to assigned business processes, ensuring that requirements are delivered to required timelines. This may include but not limited to:
providing project management support to project leads or sponsors (e.g. development and maintenance of project dashboards, trackers and plans)
contract generation and invoice management
facilitating B&I event planning (e.g. training to B&I staff)
supporting delivery of the B&I communication plan and maintenance of communication channels (e.g. Sharepoint, Workplace, B&I Newsletter, engagement forums)
You will be responsible for liaising with other teams (e.g. within B&I, HR, Admin Support), ensuring that requests are being progressed and addressing any issues or delays promptly.
You will support and/or lead initiatives for B&I, including planning and implementation with guidance from B&I Alliance and Operations Directors and/or the Head of Alliance and Operations.
You may also be assigned to support a B&I leadership team, as and when required, with team or face to face meetings and town halls (e.g. coordinating agenda development, preparation of slides, meeting minutes and action follow up).
You will have direct lines of communication across B&I and with other groups external to B&I
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent proven experience in one or more of the following: pharmaceutical/medical/healthcare industry, project management, research, commercial planning, and/or global coordination.
Recognized competency in one or more of the following areas: resource management, continuous improvement, change management, compliance, quality management, training, budget/finance management, or supplier management.
Ability to manage workload and prioritise appropriately.
Ability to solve problems that involve many decision makers, and develop multiple options/recommendations.
Proven ability to work with multiple customers and on multiple projects simultaneously
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated project management experience from drug and/or non-drug projects or relevant certification
Ability to understand business strategy and goals and execute against associated objectives.
Expertise in use of business technologies and tools preferred (e.g. Sharepoint, Workplace, MS Teams, OneNote, MS Excel, MS Project,)
