We are seeking an experienced Financial Accountant for our Shared Services Finance department located in Edinburgh.

The principal responsibility of the Financial Accountant will be to support the general accounting function of the Shared Service Centre.

The following are minimum requirements related to the Financial Accountant position.

  • Completion of month end accounting duties such as prepare, review and/or post monthly accruals and prepayments, review and investigate significant costs and variances, analyse and ensure confirmation of intercompany balances

  • Prepare monthly journal entries as required.

  • Complete nominated monthly balance sheet account reconciliations in line with group deadlines.

  • Prepare company reporting schedules for submission to group.

  • Review AP and Cashier payments and authorise bank payments in line with corporate policy and controls.

  • Assist in preparation of VAT returns, Intrastat returns and NSO reports for all nominated entities.

  • Ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley control environment.

  • Ensure accounting policies are being followed.

  • Provide internal and external auditors with requested documentation.

  • Assist in preparation of tax return submission data for all nominated entities.

  • Prepare P11Ds and government statistical forms and address corresponding queries.

  • Perform all other related duties as assigned.

  • Identify and escalate items likely to cause interest at higher levels of CRL – adopt a “no surprises” methodology

  • Responsible for building and maintaining excellent relationships with both internal and external key stakeholders

You should be a qualified accountant, actively seeking a professional accounting qualification or “qualified by experience” with appropriate years of relevant work experience. You should be a proactive self-starter with proven ability to problem solve complex issues. Experience of working in a busy Finance office is essential, as is familiarity with integrated finance software such as SAP and Excel. You should have extensive SAP knowledge.

Salary banding for this position is £35,000- £47,000. Successful candidates will be appointed to the bottom of the pay band if they have no relevant experience.

In exceptional circumstances where the candidate has relevant equivalent experience, this will be taken into consideration.
