Rockwell Collins Finance Analyst in Leighton Buzzard, United Kingdom

B/E Aerospace, a wholly owned subsidiary of Rockwell Collins Inc., is a leading manufacturer of aircraft interior products and we currently have some exciting positions based at our Leighton Buzzard facility, including a Finance Analyst.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Finance Analyst will be required to work directly with the business functions, in particular engineering, providing financial support, analysis and budget governance

Specifically this role is responsible for:

  • Take ownership of the program model and work with the commercial team in validating and challenging the model inputs and assumptions and aligning to production schedule

  • Streamline program reporting processes and explain monthly variances.

  • Support the Senior Program Analyst in production of timely and accurate program accounting entries and EAC forecasts for A350 program

  • Business Partner with key functions, particularly program management, commercial and supply chain, to ensure alignment of financial assumptions. Support both new business proposals and organic business growth opportunities.

  • Work closely with Philippines, Toulouse and UK finance teams to gather inputs and ensure forecast changes are understood and latest information is incorporated into the monthly financial forecast / O&R registers

  • Integration of program financials with business level FP&A activities and financial consolidation systems

  • Adherence to the monthly financial timetable ensuring accurate and timely production of A350 program financials and reporting packages incorporating latest business, segment and corporate reporting requirements

  • Support the Senior Program Analyst in driving financial performance analysis and reporting at a Head of Version level

  • Support the Senior Program Analyst in Challenging cost down assumptions, particularly materials, to ensure alignment with Supply Chain. Support Philippines cost team with Bill of Materials analysis. Support Global Supply Chain cost reduction initiatives and reviews.

  • Supporting A350 business unit FP&A activities including Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet review and variance analysis to ensure revenue and costs are classified correctly through management reporting

  • Sensitivity analysis to assess impacts of operational decisions and accounting roadmap changes

  • Managing forecast versions within the financial consolidation system

  • Continuous development of systems, financial modelling, profitability and cost analysis to improve controls, efficiency and align to latest business requirement

  • Assist the Snr Program finance analyst with internal and external audit requirements

  • Ad-hoc analysis as required

  • Any other reasonable duties

The Ideal candidate will have the following -

  • Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACA or ACCA) or equivalent

  • Experience in financial forecasting and month end closing activities to tight deadlines

  • Experience of program/contract profitability analysis

  • Strong analytical and organisational skills with an eye for detail

  • Strong excel skills including excel based financial modelling experience

  • Experience within a manufacturing environment

The following would be an advantage, but isn’t essential –

  • Experience with JD Edwards or another similar ERP system

  • Experience with Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) or similar financial consolidation system

  • Experience with long term contract accounting and percentage complete accounting

  • Experience of working for a US company with exposure to SOX and US GAAP
