Title: Analyst, Business Finance
The Finance team is a core part of the Janus Henderson business, currently with approximately 80 members of staff globally with 20 in Business Finance.
Overview of the Role
This person will be responsible for supporting the Business Finance teams located in London, Denver and Sydney and providing business partnering support for the Corporate functions of finance, human resources, procurement and strategy.
The team’s objective is to drive resource planning and control and to facilitate effective forward looking business decision making with commercial insight to identify opportunities to create value.
Duties and Responsibilities
Support the business finance team with:
Expense and headcount reporting
Transaction analysis and investigation
Budgeting and forecasting:
Develop in to expert SAP BPC user (training to be provided)
Own process to load and review forecast and budget information
Actively input into driving process efficiency
Ad hoc analysis:
As required to support functional finance business partners.
Take ownership for elements of the finance platform such as maintenance of master data.
Participate in projects to enhance or improve the use of the finance platform
Assumes additional duties as assigned.
Key Team Deliverables
Ensure budgets and forecasts agreed by the Executive Committee are managed appropriately, flagging risks where necessary
Enable functional heads to manage the resources of their global teams
Provide independent advice and support to the business as well as challenging where appropriate
Production and tracking of accurate and efficient budgets and forecasts
Ensure the FP&A team has appropriate commentary and support to report monthly results and changes in forecasts to the Executive Committee
Ensure business functions have sufficient finance representation and support for projects, initiatives and supplier or client commercial arrangements
Preparation of ad-hoc analysis as required by management

Technical Skills and Qualifications
Graduate in Financial / Business / Mathematical / Analytical or similar course
Part qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent)
Prior experience working in an FP&A or business finance role
Experience of working in investment management desirable but not essential
Ability to analyse data and provide relevant financial insight
Excellent excel skills
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels
Team player with a flexible results driven approach
Self-starter with problem solving capabilities
Able to learn and understand the objectives and priorities of the business
Ability to develop relationships within the Finance Department and the wider business
Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Ability to adapt quickly in a rapidly changing environment
