Business Unit Overview

BlackRock Platform Innovation (BPI) is the team responsible for managing some of BlackRock’s most strategic, complex and high value projects. The team consists of delivery focused individuals who apply in-depth knowledge of BlackRock’s organization, processes and technology to execute cross-functional, broad impact change. We partner with teams across BlackRock to drive scale, ensure consistency and reduce risk across all parts of the organization.

We play a critical role as part of the “connective tissue” between the various groups within BlackRock: we bring teams together to overcome key challenges. Working in BPI requires strong problem solving, relationship management, communication and organizational skills.

Job Purpose / Background

Support the EMEA Leadership team and BPI Business Management team in providing operational, analytical and business management support to this fast-paced business. The Associate role will be critical in supporting the Leadership team in shaping and delivering the group’s strategic projects. This role would require working in cross-functional teams and connecting with multiple stakeholders of the organization, including senior management, thus offering significant exposure and growth opportunities. Analytical skills, results-oriented working attitude and the ability to work under pressure are key to perform well in this role.


  • Responsible for assisting with the general business management operations including budget, expense and headcount management.

  • Assist with resource allocation and managing project administration.

  • Maintain a strong connection with the global BPI Business Manager to ensure consistency of business management approach across the global team and partner on global presentation and meeting logistics.

  • Assist with talent practices and processes including recruitment, onboarding, professional training and development.

  • Responsible for executing on the EMEA Leadership Team’s daily operations and improving management and operational efficiency.

  • Coordinate and monitor business Operating Plans including business goals, objectives and metrics in partnership with key BPI leaders and other stakeholders.

  • Manage the content and logistics for regional meetings, presentations and town halls.


  • 3-5 years of work experience

  • Highly professional and organized individual committed to excellence.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, planning and time management skills; ability to multi-task and manage multiple deadlines in a high-pressure environment.

  • Effective communicator – possesses excellent verbal, written, visual/presentation and interpersonal communication skills including the ability to interact with senior leadership.

  • Demonstrated ability to work well as part of a team and excel in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficient in word, excel and power-point.

  • Results driven individual with strong problem solving skills and attention to detail

  • Self-motivated: able to show initiative and come up with ideas without prompting
