Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities:

To achieve the above as a Claim Relationship Manager at Travelers you will:

  • Be responsible for a portfolio of Key Clients; ensure that the clients service needs are fully met; liaise with Business Intelligence, Underwriters, Distribution, Claims and Risk Control to provide information on claims activity and trends and any servicing issues; solve problems on claims issues when required; attend Client Stewardship meetings and support the business in cross selling.

  • Attend new business presentations to provide details of the Travelers claims service offering and establish the best claims handling solution

  • Monitor the renewal schedule of significant accounts and make sure that Underwriters are in possession of all pertinent claims information in anticipation of renewal negotiations.

  • Be responsible for organising an appropriate level of monitoring and review of service delivery.

  • Represent claims in internal and external meetings with Customers as required and takes accountability to commit the Claims Department to an agreed approach which meets the Customer’s needs.

  • Ensure that pre-agreed claims data reports are delivered on time and in the prescribed form to brokers and insurance risk managers.

  • Be responsible for establishing and maintaining contact and a profile with the claims focal point at a selected panel of national and Key Brokers.

  • Support the identification of claims handling efficiencies, with the aim of improving claims service delivery whilst reducing the total cost of claims. Work with VP Claim Europe to enhance the claims proposition to regional market and to tailor our claims service offering to strategic regional Brokers and customers.

  • Some UK travel required for client and branch visits.

Job Summary:

Claims handling is a vital service we offer at Travelers and we are dedicated to providing our insureds, reinsureds, brokers and underwriters with an efficient and effective claims service. We aim to maintain a culture of continuous improvement for the benefit of our customers and to that end we are looking for a Claim Relationship Manager to join our team in London to help develop our Claim Value Proposition.

You will make sure that the Claim service needs of our key clients across all lines of business are fully met by identifying, recommending and implementing enhancements in process efficiency and changes. Working across multiple lines of business and in partnership with Distribution, Marketing, Risk Control and Underwriting, you will be responsible for developing new business, retaining existing customers and for raising the value of Claims both externally and internally.

Education, Work Experience & Knowledge:

  • To succeed in this role you will have excellent communication skills with the ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships internally and externally

  • Ideally you will be ACII qualified and / or have a relevant degree

  • You will have experienced managing key client accounts (or significant relationship management experience), addressing trends and issues affecting their business and mitigating risks and exposures as required.

  • You will have solid business acumen and have the ability to understand; numbers, operational metrics and business performance.

  • Experience delivering external presentations and pitches would be desirable.
