Finance Manager, Business Development - Hotels.com
This is an exciting, newly created role within Hotels.com Global FP&A;, as Finance business partner to the fast-moving global Business Development team.
The purpose of this role is to support and empower the Bus. Dev. team to broaden Hotels.com’s reach through forming intelligent partnerships around the planet, whilst ensuring that suitable commercial terms and risk levels are maintained.
Reporting to the Finance Director, Retail & Business Development, the role will be based in the Hotels.com London office.
This is a business-facing role, covering every stage of the deal making process, including opportunity scoping, deal modelling, negotiation support, financial operations, performance tracking and ongoing optimization.
Areas of business include, but are not limited to, affiliate partnerships, loyalty schemes, sports sponsorships, cross-sell opportunities and distributed commerce.
The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with top class academics and strong commercial acumen, who can support, advise and challenge the business to maximize growth whilst balancing profitability and business risk.
Modelling new business development opportunities to gauge size, profitability, and risk levels
Bus Dev pipeline tracking and forecasting
Liaise with wider Finance teams (e.g. Loyalty Finance) to ensure all profitability assumptions are robust and up to date.
Operations support (esp. FinOps & EFI) to ensure new partnerships can be launched smoothly
Maintaining up to date deal modelling tools, and training Bus. Dev. team in their use
Ongoing commercial assessment of current deals to ensure growth and profitability are optimized and commercial terms are adhered to
Find synergies within the Retail Finance team, and throughout Hotels.com Finance by commercial benchmarking and leveraging best practices
Numerous other ad-hoc projects as new business opportunities arise
Excellent communication and business partnering skills
The ability to explain complex financial deals to non-finance stakeholders
Proven experience in M&A;, business case development, or investment evaluations
Self-motivated and proactive, with outstanding analytical and problem solving skills
The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple projects simultaneously and adhere to deadlines
Excellent Excel and data manipulation skills. Coding skills (SQL, Python) a definite advantage
Strong attention to detail
Experience and Qualification:
Education: University degree, 2:1 or higher
Professional qualifications: ACA qualified (big four) / CIMA qualified (blue chip firm). First time passes.
