Microsoft CEE – Central and Easter Europe

Microsoft CEE is an Sub Region that includes 4 clusters and 33 countries. The Sub Region is mainly made up by emerging markets that have high potential to grow in the IT space and specifically in the Cloud. The CEE Sub Region 4 clusters have been key enabler of the IT market growth through solid partnership with Governments, Enterprise, small and medium as well as IT partners and consumer partners in all of countries in the region. CEE Sub Reginal Finance team has the responsibility to partner with the Sub Regional sales and marketing teams, with the Finance teams in the 4 clusters and with EMEA TZ and MS Corporation in Redmond. Job’s Purpose

This role is a leadership position within both Finance and Consumer and Devices Sales (CDS) teams and is a major contributor to the success of the CDS business.

This individual will be responsible for establishing processes, driving impact by reporting on key financial metrics, providing insightful financial analysis to drive business decisions in a compliant way and finally establish the long term economic vision for the CDS organization.

The position is responsible for an end-to-end management of the CDS P&L.

The position will be responsible for Czech/Slovakia/Hungary Cluster Controlling in CEE CDS.

The CEE CDS Finance team is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Finance professional with strong finance & business acumen to play a leading collaboration and facilitation role to enable our team and our business reach its full potential. This role will partner directly with the SR CDS Finance Lead and Cluster CDS LT to land key growth initiatives, collaborate with the EMEA CDS Finance team and our Sub-Region peers finance team to develop robust scalable insights & analytics that result in business action and align with the SR and EMEA teams (FP&A and Category Controllers) to facilitate a productive Sub Region / EMEA engagement model.



  • Manage the present

o Drive the overall finance performance and forecast accuracy for the Cluster working with the Cluster LT and region teams to understand the drivers and the levers available to influence - proactively flagging upsides, risks, actions needed and managing the overall cluster investments and Gross Margin.

o Ensure a strong culture of compliance across the Cluster leveraging data and analytics to identify our risks and treat audits as learning opportunity

o Drive utilization of Standard Reporting to minimize the use of local reporting partnering with EMEA/MSA Category controller role to flag areas for further simplification/centralization that addresses finance/business needs.

o Succesfully leveage EMEA Power BI, predictive analytics, etc. to bring sharp insights, objectivity and stability to how we assess and anticipate business performance and actions needed

o Contribute to key financial process (outlook, forecast, budget) in conjunction with the EMEA/MSA Category controller role - be the voice of Field, champion simplicity, drive consistency, focus & prioritization on what matters, provide objective risk / upside assessment - ensure all of this is delivered within the existing standard CDS finance processes

o Establish a consistent rhythm of communication with Cluster LT

o Partner with the other EMEA Clusters Controllers to ensure alignment on how they manage and measure the business, how they partner across CDS and CDS Finance

o Delivers Results through Teamwork: Work through others and across teams, aligning people and resources, utilizing the community that delivers expected business results

  • Drive Growth

o Identify opportunities to grow above budget and overall, challenging business - being voice of reason for the company, deeply understand the business through analysis and insights, transferring them into the business discussions.

o Improve Business Productivity leveraging best practice sharing and ROI analysis across Geo

o Leverage Category Controllers insight and MSA Category Controller to systematically identify opportunities and prompt the discussion on how to realize them.

o Manage the investment strategy in the cluster - challenge ROI, ensure long / short term balance, alignment with EMEA strategy. Drive accountability on results including identifying key learnings and how we can scale

  • Key indicators of success:

  • 6-8 years of demonstrated work experience in financial analysis and/or financial planning/business advisory or similar in multinational companies, tech industry preferred

  • A degree in finance/business administration or an MBA degree

  • Big4 experience

  • Proven experience of working in a complex matrix environment in geographically distributed teams, leading virtual teams

  • Strong understanding of consumer business segment in tech industry

  • Ability to drive the transformation

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong ability to analyze, interpret, and explain business results

  • Positive mindset

  • Experience and comfort presenting to Senior Management and working with senior stakeholders

  • Excellent organization skills

  • Technical capabilities: advanced Excel skills, SQL databases and queries, PowerBI
