Posting Job Description

Do you want to kick-start your career?

This summer you could develop the skills and knowledge that will equip you for the next step in your career!

As part of our Early Careers Programme, we are offering 10 internships that will run from 25 June to 14 September, paid at the London Living Wage and based at our Turner House office in the heart of Soho, London.

During your three months at Turner, you will be hosted by a dedicated team; working on real-life projects to challenge and develop your skills in your chosen field. As an intern, you will gain an insight into how your team operates on a daily basis, as well as invaluable ‘on the job’ experience to prepare you for your next career move. Our interns will start and finish their placements together, so this is your chance to learn and develop new skills alongside other interns.

What are we looking for?

You don’t necessarily need to be studying for a degree to be a successful summer intern with us. If you can adapt and thrive in new situations, we’d like to hear from you.

For all our internship roles we are looking for people who are:

  • Legally allowed to work in the UK. Unfortunately, we are not able to consider candidates who would require sponsorship
  • Passionate about the Media Industry and eager to learn.
  • Great communicators – with excellent written and verbal skills
  • Able to take initiative – be proactive, rather than waiting for instruction
  • Proficient in IT, with experience in MS Office – including PowerPoint and Excel
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced role, managing many projects and tasks with ease

We have internship opportunities across our business teams, including:

Legal

Looking for an insight into how an in-house legal team operates? You could have a real impact on how the legal team operates whilst getting valuable ‘on the job’ training and experience.

HR

If you’re a great communicator who can thrive in a fast-paced role, you could help us to put our employees at the heart of what we do by working on projects with our dedicated HR department.

Research

You could develop your research skills and contribute to real-life projects to help us grow our business in the UK and abroad.

Facilities

Support Turner’s day-to-day facilities management with our busy and dedicated Facilities team.

Marketing

If you’re familiar with marketing computer software and apps, you could collaborate with our busy marketing, events, PR and brand studio teams in all stages of marketing campaigns, contributing your creative ideas to our marketing & communication strategies.

Business Strategy

If you’re in your penultimate or final year at university, you could contribute your logical and analytical skills to our corporate strategy initiatives and EMEA business development projects , expanding Turner’s presence in the ever-changing media landscape.

Licensing

If you are able to organize, prioritize and multi-task in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment, you could gain valuable experience in marketing and brand management across our Turner brands with our busy licensing team.

Engineering Supply Chain

If you’re deadline-oriented with a keen eye for detail, you could learn the steps involved in making content suitable for the European and Asian markets, and the best ways to protect Turner’s media content.

Not sure which one to apply for? In your application let us know which 2 or 3 you are most interested in, and if selected, we’ll try to make sure you experience at least 2 different roles.

To apply for our summer internships, please submit a YouTube video by no later than 30 April 2018.

You can use your mobile phone, laptop or even a library computer to complete your video. The video should be no longer than 5 minutes in duration. We’re only assessing the answers you provide, and not the quality of the video, so no need to edit your submission.

Once you have completed your video application, please make a word document including the link to your video and attach this when prompted to add your CV on our application page.

  • Why are you interested in working for Turner?
  • Are you interested in a particular internship role – and why?
  • Tell us about your favourite TV show or network.
  • What skills would you bring to this internship?
  • What are you hoping to learn or experience? **PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU DO NOT NEED TO UPLOAD YOUR CV WHEN APPLYING. WHEN ASKED TO UPLOAD YOUR CV, PLEASE UPLOAD A WORD DOCUMENT JUST WITH A LINK TO YOUR YOUTUBE VIDEO**

How to make your online video:

Unlisted videos on YouTube

By default, all uploaded videos are set as 'Public' videos, which means they can be viewed by anyone. The 'Privacy Settings' can easily be changed by following the steps below:

  • Visit your Video Manager.
  • Find the video you would like to change, then click the Edit button.
  • In the 'Privacy Settings' drop-down menu, select Unlisted.
  • Click Save changes.

Making a video unlisted means that only people you send the link to can view it. To share an unlisted video, just share (copy and paste) the link with the people who you would like to have access to it, and they will then be able to see it. Unlisted videos will not appear in any of YouTube's public spaces, like your channel page or search results.
