The Team

You will be a contributing member of a team working within Custom Engineering working on data and control plane solutions for major Satellite Broadcast operators across Europe. This highly visible, high performance team collaborates in a challenging and demanding environment. You will be joining the team in continuing to implement and deliver additional features to the solutions.

Role & Responsibilities

  • You will be senior member of team that designs and implements Head end (server side) software

  • You be responsible for software development using Java and associated technologies.

  • Collaborate with other leads, product managers and architects to understand the end customer use of the software

  • Collaborate and work with diverse team that is geographically spread

  • Analyze and implement new requirements from customer.

  • Provide technical guidance to other members of the team

  • Responsible for full development life cycle; understanding requirements, estimating and planning work, escalating issues, test automation and releasing software.

Required Skills

  • Strong OOPs fundamentals

  • Excellent programming skills in Java

  • Good understanding Linux/Unix OS and commands

  • Experienced with end-end Software development lifecycle

  • Able to work independently or in a team player

  • Ability to adapt and learn

  • Good communication skills

  • Great problem solver

  • Able to take on responsibility and ownership for development commitments

Qualification & Experience

•Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering / Computer Science

•3 to 5 years of programming experience in Java in Industry

Desirable skills

  • Agile software development methodology and agility to adapt to changing needs

  • Experience of Automated testing experience

Working knowledge of following would be advantageous

  • Git/GitHub

  • CI (e.g) Jenkins

  • Maven

  • Cucumber/Gherkin

  • Docker

  • JIRA
