Oracle is looking for dynamic, high performing individuals with a Finance ERP background and experience in the Commercial Industries sector, including Manufacturing and Retail, who thrive on the challenge of working in a fast moving cloud sales environment and who have a passion for technology.

Role overview

We are looking for someone with a financial processes background. You will ideally have experience with a Finance system (Oracle would be a plus) either as an implementation consultant, business analyst or perhaps a financial professional. A background in Presales would be ideal but is not essential.

Starting initially with a clear focus on Finance ERP you will develop into an all-round ERP consultant in the long term, with strong business acumen and solution knowledge in Enterprise Performance Management to complement your financial expertise.

In this role you will be at forefront of the Cloud ERP revolution, using your business and product knowledge to develop new business for Oracleā€™s ERP and wider applications and technology portfolio. In particular you will provide the primary relationship between the customer and Oracle from a solution perspective working as part of a wider Oracle team for more complex deals. You will run workshops with the customer to understand their strategy, challenges and objectives to develop the theme to win and an overall value proposition. You will also be involved in all aspects of the sales engagement, from RFx to solution demonstrations, developing the solution design and presenting it in the most compelling, innovative and memorable way possible.

On less complex deals you will be responsible for leading the engagement, developing the deal strategy in close partnership with the Sales lead and executing all solution based activities.


Communication skills

Strong communication skills are a key competency for this role. Applicants should be confident presenting to a range of levels of seniority up to and including C level executives. They should also be confident communicating in smaller groups and 1:1 with CXOs. Applicants should also feel comfortable facilitating workshops. You will also be responsible for software demonstrations so should be comfortable delivering compelling software presentations. Customer focus

A strong focus on building relationships with customers is crucial for this role. We are looking for a curiosity to really understand the customer and their industry and bring any insight that you can bring to the customer and opportunities including a willingness to develop an in depth knowledge of Oracle customer success stories.

Product mastery

We are looking for in depth knowledge of Finance and Financial management systems. The target product mastery profile would include Enterprise Performance Management systems as well butthis breadth of knowledge can be acquired over time.

Industry mastery

Our ideal candidate would have a good knowledge of the Commercial Industries sector including Manufacturing and Retail, understands the trends, terminology, legislation, KPIs specific to the sector as well as the specific requirements for business software.

Competitive knowledge

We are looking for knowledge of the key competitors in the sector and/or the niche players in the Commercial Industries sector. Most importantly you can demonstrate experience and understanding of how to differentiate a value proposition from that of the competition.

Thought leadership and social media presence

We are ideally looking for people who demonstrate thought leadership in their field and ideally have a strong social media presence.

Detailed Description and Job Requirements

Provides direction and specialist knowledge in applying the technology/application to client business. Facilitation of customer product/application understanding through presentations demonstrations and benchmarks; provision of support throughout the sell.

As a Principal Sales Consultant you will be responsible as the expert for formulating and leading presales technical / functional support activity to prospective clients and customers while ensuring customer satisfaction. Acts as a technical resource and mentor for less experienced Sales Consultants. Focuses on large or complex sales opportunities that need creative and complex solutions. Develops productivity tools and training for other Sales Consultants. Develops and delivers outstanding Oracle presentations and demonstrations. Leads any and all aspects of the technical sales process. Advises internal and external clients on overall architect solutions.

Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. 3 years vendor (sales and marketing) experience. 7 years business experience with relevant computer applications or database/tools. Ability to implement the most advanced product features. Thorough knowledge of system and application design. In depth knowledge of competitors. Demonstrated project management skills. Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills: needs analysis, positioning, business justification, closing techniques. Ability to persuade others through presentations, demonstrations, and written communication. Ability to travel as needed. A/BS degree or equivalent, advanced degree highly desirable.
